Mechanical Designer / Engineering Tech

Yama Vans is hiring an experienced Mechanical Designer/Engineering Technologist who thrives on precision, structure, documentation, and manufacturing discipline.

This is not a creative design or conceptual engineering role, but functions as the backbone of our engineering operations, with ownership of CAD → BOM → ERP → Production process.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed and accurate CAD models, drawings, BOMs in Solidworks
• Create, update, organize BOMs in line with ERP requirements
• Create production and fabrication ready drawings
• Generate CNC files (3 axis), sheet material nesting, and 2D drawings
• Maintain CAD, drawing, and BOM standards
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Production to ensure data accuracy

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in manufacturing documentation or drafting (mechanical engineering tech, draftsperson or similar role)
• Strong proficiency in Solidworks (assemblies, drawings, BOMs)
• Extremely detail oriented and disciplined in following standards
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Understanding of manufacturing principles (sheet metal, fabrication, tolerancing)
• Mechanical engineering technology diploma, or equivalent

This role is documentation focused, not a creative design role, and is perfect for someone who loves details, organization, and discipline.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
